What Are The Kid Friendly Hotels In Las Vegas?
Any article on kid-friendly hotels in Las Vegas has to begin with Circus Circus. Circus Circus is the original kid-friendly Las Vegas hotel, and with the Excalibur moving away from the family market, it is the only Vegas hotel that is actively soliciting family business. With the free Circus shows every evening in the hotel, the midway where kids can win big fuzzy dice and stuffed animals, and the huge Adventuredome Theme park in the back yard, it’s pretty hard to beat for kid-friendliness. There are, however, some other Vegas hotels with some advantages for kids. Frankly, any of the major hotels in the area of the Showcase Mall would be a decent choice for a family vacation. The Showcase Mall is a great place for the kids, featuring among other things the only first-run movie theatre complex on the strip, as well as M&M World, the multi-million dollar arcade GameWorks, a food court and the World of Coca-Cola. What is arguably the best bet is across the street at the Monte Carlo, which features plenty of fast food, a very cool and fun pool area, corridors that the kids can use so they don’t have to walk through the casino, and best of all, reasonable prices. Caddy-corner from the Showcase Mall is the Excalibur, which still has plenty of amenities for the kids, most particularly the arcade/midway level below the casino level. There are lots of cheap places for the kids to eat, and although the hotel is trying to cater to an older hipper crowd, there are still lots of kids there and easy access/walkways to NewYork and the Mandalay Bay and Luxor. Across the street from the Showcase Mall is New York/New York, which you have to think is trying to be kid-friendly as there is a major roller coaster running through and around the outside. There’s a great pool area and lots of places to eat. If you’re into a real family-type vacation, you might consider Green Valley Ranch Resort, 15 minutes southeast of the strip. There’s a awesome swimming area with a sand-bottom pool and much more, movies, lots of shopping and space, and is convenient to Lake Mead and Hoover Dam. There’s also child care readily available.
