Las Vegas Golf Packages - From Lake Las Vegas To Summerlin

Las Vegas offers plenty of golf courses, but there are several things you want to be aware of before you schedule anything. If you're planning a golf vacation to Las Vegas, the first thing you want to consider is that time of year, as June through September are incredibly warm and not what most people would consider good golfing weather.

On the other hand, if you can stand the triple digit heat, the greens fees are quite a bit less for most courses during these months. For the rest of us, October through May presents generally good weather, although winter in Las Vegas can be windy and biting at times. Personally, I would not schedule a Las Vegas golf package vacation between December and February.

There are many golf courses in Las Vegas, but there are only two places that would accurately rate as golf resorts. Lake Las Vegas is about a half an hour from the strip and features two incredible golf courses, the Falls and Reflection Bay. It also features three hotels and many rental condos as well as a wide array of amenities including upscale spas, many pools as well as casinos, restaurants and bars. The other true golf resort is the JW Marriott in Summerlin which is also about 1/2 hour from the strip. This one is a bit bigger featuring nine golf courses all within 10 minutes of the hotel with shuttle service to all, and also features a wide range of luxurious amenities including casinos.

Of course there are golf courses which feature packages with various casinos. The Bali Hai is a high-priced course associated with Mandalay Bay. Being on Las Vegas Blvd. is a major reason for the big price.

The Cascata, Owned by Harrah’s, and Shadow Creek, owned by Mirage/MGM are the two premier and most coveted courses in Las Vegas. You must be a guest of the respective hotels to play, and even that is no guarantee of a decent tee time. The Wynn country club is in the same cosmic price range, but still has a ways to go to be on par with Shadow Creek and The Cascata.

Harrah’s also has a golf package with Rio Secco golf club that should be a good bit more affordable than the Cascata.
